About the Project
Parents and children of all backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities will be able to play with and borrow the best possible toys which they may not otherwise be able to afford; they will meet other families, stopping isolation; they will access advice and signposting to other services; they will learn more about what toys help individual children learn and develop through play.
About the Charity
We lend out really good quality toys, games and play resources to local children aged from a few months to early teens. Some have additional needs, others have English as a second language. Borrowing toys is great for families on low income or with limited space at home. Anyone who cares for children can join the toy libraries, from parents and grandparents, to toddler groups and afterschool clubs, all are welcome. We run 3 weekly sessions throughout the year where children and parents can play and meet other families whilst choosing toys to take home. Our toy librarians are on hand to give advice on which toys are the best possible ones for an individual child's needs and interests. Our aim is to help children learn and develop to their full potential through play and having fun.
