E.P.I.C. Dad (Fathers and Families Project)
Health
We want to provide new fathers with a 'survival kit' after the birth of their new baby: a backpack of items to support dad and baby.
About this cause
The church was started in the 1930's to serve the local village community of Lakenheath and support the American military community from the local air base. Our purpose is to provide a welcoming, caring and relevant church that meets people’s various spiritual, emotional, social and practical needs. Our work focuses on the various age groups of the local community and we are committed to making a positive difference in whatever way we can. Our activities include Sunday services, children's club, men's group, ladies group, community meals, nursery, food bank, community litter picking, and a fathers and families project.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will encourage the role of fathers and father-figures within the family by bringing focus to the positive role a dad can have in caring for his new baby and supporting the baby's mum. The local community will benefit as new dads are encouraged to be actively involved in family life.
