We would like to refresh and update the reading corners in each of the 15 classrooms at River Primary School.
About this cause
The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association raises money for River Primary School through various means such as fetes, raffles, sponsored events, Frozen Fridays, etc, we fund raise to provide the extras to enrich and deepen our children's learning. Previous projects have included the building of a school library, timber trails and story circle, outdoor classrooms and the Woodland Forest School.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Reading helps children in all of their learning and reading for pleasure is something to be encouraged and nurtured in all of our pupils. The existing book corners are beginning to look a little tired through much use (which of course is good) but a refresh and update of relevant books will promote and hopefully excite our children to continue to read by choice.
