We want to buy new playground markings and expand the school's trim trails to keep the children physically active during their play times.
About this cause
Werrington Primary School PTA is an organisation that aims to create links between the school's staff and parents. In a climate of increasing shrinking school budgets the fundraising events and schemes that the PTA organise provide the extras that are not within the school's main budget. Money raised goes towards items that make learning fun and interesting. Our aim is to provide additional resources that will benefit as many of the school's children as possible. Each year we supplement school trips, provide equipment for out of school clubs, educational resources as well as donating book/PE bags for all the school's new intake children. The events PTA organise are not just about raising money they also give the opportunity for staff, parents and children to socialise together.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Childhood obesity is on the rise, our aim is to increase daily activity levels, thus providing long term health benefits. School play times are key to this. Adding colourful, educational playground markings encourages children participation. Trim trails teach children to assess and learn to take calculated risks; building confidence. Play helps develop social skills and concentration in class.
