Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club
Health
We would like to provide the Co-op store and Bonnyrigg Post Office with defibrillators.
About this cause
The aim of the Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club (BRFC) is to provide a safe environment and to encourage and promote the development of football and health within the community of Bonnyrigg through the provision of youth teams for boys and girls that foster fair play participation for all, irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, sexuality or disability. We strive to create partnerships with other like minded organisations within Bonnyrigg and the surrounding Communities. This commitment has seen BRFC partner with Bonnyrigg After Schools Club to provide a Nursery for 3-5 year olds operated from our Poltonhall Pavilion. Our community initiatives for 2017 will see us host Mental Health seminars, provide work placements for a school leaver and a multi cultural healthy eating event.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We considered installing defibrillators into the local sports pavilions however access to them would be limited as the buildings are not always open. By installing them into these locations they will be of use to the community as a whole but we are mindful that these locations are local to the pitches our players train and play on. The project will also promote BRFC as more than a football club
