About this cause

As a church we plan to demolish a not fit for purpose hall and replace it with a community building, The MEAD CENTRE, which will be used by scouts, brownies, cubs, U3A Keep Fit, Community lunches and other meals, children's parties, sales of work, the town horticultural show, exhibitions, public meetings, mother and toddler groups, board games, and in the sensory room young children and confused and frail elderly people. The Mead Centre will also have changing facilities for babies and toddlers and will have a shower room for those who use the Centre for indoor sports. The Centre will be a community resource managed by a group drawn from the church and the centre users and representatives of the local community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The MEAD CENTRE will enable a large range of groups to meet in the centre of the town and to interact with one another to enhance community cohesion and to network with each other. Several different groups will be able to use the MEAD CENTRE at the same time because it will incorporate 4 meeting rooms, a large hall and a sensory room, two kitchens and a shower and baby changing facilities.
