We would like to provide a week long holiday for disabled children from Manchester here at CAFT as part of our Holiday Programme for 2018.
About this cause
We provide a safe haven for hundreds of very special children - Holidays, Fun Days & Christmas Parties for children whose lives are severely limited due to disability, illness, deprivation or family/social difficulties. Children living with pain, fear and frustration, suffering abuse or neglect. Children trying their best to function in chaotic homes whilst providing very adult support for parents & siblings. For these children a break away from home is a lifeline, a rare opportunity to play and have fun, to be a child. We aim to give these children experiences of childhood that most of us will have taken for granted. Memories of fun, laughter & friendship to treasure in their darkest times. We aim to show them that they have the right to play and have fun like any other child.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Every single child has the potential to not only participate but excel. For the first time in their lives they are encouraged to believe they have the right to have hopes & dreams. Children who had little or no interest in their communities have been seen to make a concerted effort and are transformed into happy, confident children who now make a valuable contribution after their CAFT holiday.
