About this cause

Abbey House is a nursing and residential care home specialising in dementia care. Opened in 2016, it provides a high quality environment for 73 people, with en-suite rooms. Our aim at is to offer the highest standards of professional care and comfort in a warm and friendly environment. We take a holistic approach to providing care and support to each resident; we think it’s important to get to know our residents and their families, which enables us to deliver a service that supports the individual, not their diagnosis. Abbey House is located in Swindon and provides 24-hour nursing care for people who are living with dementia, regardless at what stage they have reached – whether they have just been diagnosed or require end of life care.

How this cause brings people in the community together

I believe the garden being prettier will make the residents want to use it more which will in turn tempt their families and friends to use it. I think it will look more inviting and also attract community groups and local residents to drop by, have a cup of tea and get to know us better. At the moment people mistake the building for a block of flats.
