Young People
We want to buy a mini-bus to ensure that our young people are able to participate in camps and other trips away from our meeting place.
About this cause
The 11th/9th Cambridge Scout Group provide outstanding Scouting for 150 young people aged 6-18 from Newnham and the surrounding areas. We can be young people’s first taste of adventure, loyal friendship, community awareness and self reliance, the basics of life long skills. We have an ethos of inclusion, of care, and of encouragement; a Scout is a friend to all Scouts. The Scout Group is made up of dedicated volunteers, and has shown 100+ years of commitment to the wellbeing development to the young people in its care. 11th/9th Cambridge Scouts give young people opportunities such as Canoeing, Rock Climbing, Archery, and Caving supervised by adults who are trained to professional standards in those fields, as well as many useful life skills including cooking, map reading, and washing up!
How this cause brings people in the community together
The young people in our Group, and others in the community, will be able to travel more easily, ensuring that everyone has access to the wider area (such as going to Scout Camp)
