Wirral Society of The Blind and Partially Sighted
Social Inclusion
We need to buy up to date computers and low vision software to enable visually impaired people to access computer technology.
About this cause
Wirral Society of The Blind and Partially Sighted provide support and to across the Borough of Wirral to people coming to terms with and living with sight loss. We provide the practical, social and emotional support people need when facing life changing circumstances and challenges sight loss can bring. We support people of all ages including children and young people through to senior citizens. Our main aims are: To enable people to live as independently as possible to develop and maintain confidence; to provide information, advice and support enabling people to understand and manage their sight condition; to provide accessible facilities and opportunities for people with sight loss to continue leading fulfilled lives, increase skills and take new directions if they wish.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Through providing accessible opportunities for visually impaired people, particularly senior citizens, we will encourage independent living, minimise social isolation and increase awareness to the benefits of using information technology in their every day lives. This will build stronger support networks with people working together to face and tackle problems faced through sight loss.
