We aim to buy a rolling road to enhance our motor vehicle facility; this will improve learner experience and enhance employability skills.
About this cause
Appleby Heritage Centre is a small independent training provider. We work with local schools, colleges, Cumbria County Council, individuals and employers to deliver a wide range of training to meet the needs of our local community. We offer Math`s & English GCSE, accredited vocational quals, Functional Skills in Math`s, English and ICT and many varied craft based classes such as welding, upholstery, plastering, art and handicrafts. The Centre also provides apprenticeship training and specialist training such as Midas & First Aid. The main purpose of our centre is to provide high quality, personalised, training to help individuals achieve. We also transport students between local schools to widen the curriculum offering. Our minibuses are available to community group to hire.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The addition of a rolling road in our Motor Vehicle Workshop will enhance learner experience at our centre. We provide up to date and valued employability skills to young people and adults in our local community. Vocational learning provides learners with opportunities to succeed, while gaining accredited qualifications. Success enhances self-esteem, life chances and promotes social inclusion.
