We want to improve the facilities and services in Dollar as set out in the Community Action Plan for the benefit of the Dollar community.
About this cause
DCDT exists to represent and support the interests of the Dollar Community and to realise the vision of Dollar as an enterprising, welcoming, caring and successful community. We aim to enable community projects, advance community development and rural regeneration, provide/improve cultural, recreational and sporting facilities to advance education and promote the health and social welfare of the community. DCDT also aims to preserve for the public benefit the historical and architectural heritage in and around Dollar. DCDT also supports and improves the well being of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage through improved safer and freely available public services and facilities and access to transport and communication.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Community Action Plan was drawn up last year following a survey sent to all households in Dollar and there has been excellent community input into the plan. The activities identified above as short term improvements will benefit people of all ages in Dollar providing improved facilities for outdoor play, a cleaner pleasanter walking/cycling environment and also better broadband connectivity.
