We need more equipment in our CancerRehab centre and would like a shower and some doors so we can help more people recover from cancer.
About this cause
We raise awareness of all the pants area cancers. I am a womb cancer survivor and I wanted to make sure no one had to go through it- when I opened the first Charity shop and people told me of their cancers and what they faced, I decided to include all types. We support people with these untalked about cancers. We have a CancerRehab Centre and this is in the same building as our registered office. Here Steve Winnan,CancerRehab specialist helps those coping with pants area cancers. They love coming to the centre and gain so much. They self refer or come via the hospital etc. We have undertaken a years research looked at world wide and plan to do more. So many people donate goods to us which we sell to support the CancerRehab and support those coping with cancer.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have many referals from the hospital, surgeries and from people themselves and once they begin with Steve, no one wants ever to leave. Physically and emotionally the rewards are great for people coping with the dreadfulness of pants area cancer - people often don't like the idea of group support, but it actually becomes this ! Their relatives often come along too - It gives people hope.
