We want to re-floor our meeting room to cover the concrete, creating a community facility that is suitable for children of all ages.
About this cause
We are the local Scout Group to the Horestone Grange COOP store with the majority of the groups Leaders and members parents regular shoppers in the store. We are a voluntary local community group with 49 adult volunteers and 180 youth members aged from 6 to 18, both girls and boys. We recently exhausted all of our funds in building a new headquarters for the group that still needs further investment to complete the project. Our plan has been to create a community facility that supports other local needs beyond just the Scout group. To complete the building we need additional money to install a floor covering in the hall. This floor is currently just painted concrete and the initial painting is already wearing off. A concrete floor is just not suitable for the needs of the children.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This will create a meeting room that will be suitable for games etc. for young children. We can then offer the facility to other charitable groups when not in use by the Scout sections.
