About this cause

Refugee and Migrant Centre, based in Wolverhampton, offers wrap-around support, advice and guidance for asylum-seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrants across the Black Country. It supports 4,500 clients a year and deals with 20,000 inquiries. Its services are delivered in more than 40 client languages. RMC aims to support asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants to lead a settled and integrated life in the UK. Our approach is a mixture of advice and practical support to encourage beneficiaries to better access their rights and entitlements. We will achieve these aims: through the provision of information, advice and support services; through using our experiences and the experiences of our service users to raise awareness of issues faced by destitute asylum seekers.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The project will make a significant contribution to the regeneration of Wolverhampton and Black Country areas by providing support and guidance to some of the most disadvantaged people. RMC is building on its 16 year achievements, where it has consistently been engaging with refugees, asylum seekers, and its existence in Wolverhampton and Black Country is vital for the regeneration of the area.
