We want to renovate an old community building to make a new home for Pippa's Group when the school we rent a portacabin from closes in July.
About this cause
The first aim of Pippa’s Group is to provide an affordable, happy, highly staffed and stimulating pre-school for all our children to enable them to enter school with the best possible start. We take any child from the local area but have a special interest in those with additional needs. The second aim is to offer support and advice to all parents by providing a weekly Parent Suport Group. We aim to make all provision as affordable as possible because we are very aware of the financial restraints on our families in these difficult times. Our sessions are highly subsidised and we provide speech therapy and occupational therapy to children who need this additional support.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Landport estate where we are ranks at 242 out of over 34,000 areas in England and Wales on the indices of deprivation for skills and education for young people and children where 1 is most deprived. We are saving the nursery for local children and also making it possible for a youth club, children's dance school and older people's club to be in the building too when it is all renovated.
