We're restoring Rylstone Chalet to provide a safe and secure base for our Brass Academy and need to weather-proof the building.
About this cause
Our objectives are to advance the education of young people in the playing of brass instruments, leading to the participation in recognised examinations, by the provision of training & public performances. To advance the appreciation of the science of brass band music by the presentation of concerts, music festivals & similar activities. To support other charities & to preserve, restore & maintain for the benefit of the Island community, historical buildings. Thus providing facilities for local people & organisations to function. We operate a Brass Academy providing low cost music tuition for persons of all ages & backgrounds, entertain locals & visitors throughout the summer, and help other charities in their fund raising efforts.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Having a safe & secure base will ensure that the band can continue to provide a Brass Academy for young musicians. Once completed the chalet will enhance the much loved Rylstone Gardens, and provide a fitting backdrop to the various concerts that take place in the gardens throughout the summer. It will also be available for hire by the local community & other organisations.
