We need to restore the bell tower of the outstanding parish church in Hawkshead for continued local community and visitor use.
About this cause
We are the Parish Church of St. Michael and All Angels, Hawkshead. We are not only a local place of worship, we are also in the heart of the community, holding events in the church for the local community and also for our many hundreds of visitors each year. These events include, Music for a Summer's Evening throughout July and August, The Christmas Fair, special events for the community, weddings, bell ringing, a place of quiet and peace and an amazing historic building for everyone to share. The Bell Tower of this historic church is in desperate need of restoration and we need funds to get this done.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will allow an iconic building to continue to be used. If the Bell Tower fails it affects all locals who use it including bell ringers and people who want to be married here, those who wish to partake of services , look for peace and quiet or just visit an incredibly historic building. The church sits in the middle of the village and is very important to all whether they worship or not.
