About this cause
St.Matthew's Church is a vibrant Church of Scotland Congregation who as well as normal church activities now has a large community role to play following the recent refurbishment of the sanctuary. Since this work was completed in December 2016 we are pleased to say that our aim to be part of the community of Perth has succeeded. During that time we have made provision for the local AD-Lib theatre group to perform, the Rock Choir Concert, been a venue for Perth Festival of the Arts, Hosted Photography exhibition for local and Tayside photographers. Provided end of term exhibition space for the Perth College students. In addition during the closure of Perth Crematorium we are providing a facility for funerals, religious or otherwise. Doors Open Day is planned for September.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Presently there are no facilities to block daylight from entering the sanctuary, the consequence that the high quality projection facilities do not achieve their full potential. By releasing this potential the space would become more attractive to organisiations making presentations where a darkened room is needed.
