Bobath Scotland
Young People
We want to provide equipment and a therapist for babies with Cerebral Palsy to help them learn how to move, communicate and play.
About this cause
Bobath Scotland exists to improve the quality of life for people with cerebral palsy. We provide specialist, tailored and interdisciplinary therapy focusing on reducing pain, developing communication and mobility. We also help parents, siblings, teachers, local therapists and others learn how best to support and include each child. Bobath Scotland aims to provide specialist therapy to children from anywhere in Scotland living with cerebral palsy. Our objectives are: • To enable more children with cerebral palsy to have improved abilities for participation in everyday life • To better equip children with cerebral palsy to start and sustain school life • To empower the parents of children with cerebral palsy to be better able to support their child in reaching their potential
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Bobath Scotland specialist centre is based in Port Dundas, Glasgow, but is available to all people across Scotland with Cerebral Palsy. We support 125 families each year, the majority are from the Greater Glasgow area.
