We want to start a singing group for over 50s. Not just because it is great fun, but because of the health benefits singing brings.

About this cause

Our mission is to support and enable Older People to live independently, developing innovative services that meet the needs of individuals and local communities in rural North Northumberland and in particular the Belford area. Our key objectives are to: Support and enable Older People to remain in their own homes and live independently Improve choice and access to services and information Promote health and well-being and address social and rural isolation We provide a Community Resource Centre, a fully accessible community transport, an Older persons Day Care Centre, Meals services, an Older Persons Gym project "Silver Sneakers", plus numerous other services and activities. This application was submitted by Paul Harrison the Centre Operations Manager at Bell View.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Benefits to our local community will be: Increased social contact, combating loneliness and isolation. An improved quality of life also building up confidence and self-esteem. Enjoyment and feeling happier, more satisfied with life and an improved sense of well-being. Enabling the Belford Community to have increased choice and control over the services and activities they are able to access.
