We want to provide outdoor facilities and a better activity trail that gives children more opportunities to be outside and active.
About this cause
We are a group of mainly parents who seek to provide extra resources and help to support the children and staff of Newbridge-on-Wye Church in Wales Primary School. We do as much as we can to help, including buying books, sports kits and equipment, IT and apps. We also help in practical ways, helping with maintaining the school and grounds, organising Christmas parties and the annual eisteddfod, and helping out with sports clubs. Our objectives are to improve the educational quality of the childrens' time at the school, but also provide ways for them to have a wider and more fulfilling education - organising and buying the extras that the school budget can no longer afford.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The school's back yard is open to the community in evenings and weekends, and families go there to play sports or ride bikes etc. We are very much a community school and have many links with the wider village. The school hall is also the village hall and events spill out into the school grounds. The village park is basic and it'd be great to have an alternative place for the community to meet.
