We want to update and modernise our clubhouse to help all people play cricket as well as opening up the facilities for wider community use.
About this cause
We are a small rural village sports club which provides the opportunity for people to take part in the game of cricket. We have an extremely large catchment area as we are located in a very rural part of NE Cumbria. We currently maintain 2 weekend teams, 1 mid-week team and 3 junior teams at age U15, U13 and U11. We encourage both male and female participation for anyone who wants to take part regardless of skill level or experience. We also have 40 5-8 year olds who are receiving coaching on a Saturday morning. The club has a wide catchment area with a radius of 15+ miles approx. We are looking to enhance and develop our facilities to ensure that many more young people, and adults, can continue participating in sport locally as well as open up the clubhouse for a more wider community use.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our aim is to have a better, more accessible, community space. Whether you're young or old, these better facilities will only enhance peoples enjoyment and participation in sport now and into the future. Coupled with this, we also want to create and act as a hub where other local groups, whatever they may be, can come together in one place and unite as a community and enjoy their chosen activities
