We want to take a group of children on an outdoor pursuit week and see them gain in physical and mental confidence.
About this cause
Snappy stands for SPECIAL NEEDS ACTIVITY AND PLAY PROVISION FOR YORK . This year we celebrate our 32nd birthday . We offer play and recreational opportunities to over 278 children and Young People with disability . Our schemes and projects run in all school holidays, weekends and evenings . Our work involves Children aged 5 to 18 , young adults age 17 to 25 and all the family members . We recruit and train volunteers to work and help on our schemes and we in turn support them through valuable training and experience gained . We work closely with the local community and have an excellent reputation and high profile in the area . Snappy is funded from grants and local fundraising events . We work very hard to keep our projects running , projects which are a lifeline to our families.
How this cause brings people in the community together
A four day project will give these young people new experiences . The outdoor pursuits will see them gain in physical and mental confidence . All the activities are set up to establish teamwork , confidence building and sense of achievement . For families this trip will give over 50 families the opportunity to have time with siblings , have a much needed break .
