About this cause

Tailor Ed Foundation is a pioneering, successful and empathetic charity established in 2008 to teach children with autism essential daily living skills. We work with families raising a child with autism within the City of Edinburgh providing both intervention services as well as social supports. Our interventions involve targeting and teaching important life skills such as: teaching children to communicate their wants and needs, following direction, using the toilet, tooth brushing, expanding children’s diets, keeping themselves safe, using public transport as well as attending and tolerating vital medical appointments and treatment. Our social supports give Tailor Ed families opportunities to meet other families and socialise in a non-judgemental, safe and manageable environment.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our support service will reduce the stresses parents experience finding the right support for their child and family. A community of families supporting one another will be created alongside opportunities for families to meet and socialise in their own community on a truly inclusive basis.
