Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust
Environment
We want to build a natural activity trail for younger visitors to the beautiful and historic ancient woodland at Greno Woods.
About this cause
We protect and enhance the local natural environment for the benefit of wildlife and people. We manage and care for 14 local nature reserves, all open at all times admission free for everyone to come in, enjoy and learn about the natural world; we run an extensive programme of wildlife-related events, educational presentations, environmental training and conservation volunteering which engages thousands of local people every year; we have a dedicated sites team, predominantly volunteers, who carry out wildlife-focused site work and land management on our reserves and other green places across Sheffield and Rotherham.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This is a free local amenity, easily reached from the various communities of North Sheffield, and there is plenty for all the family to do and see, except possibly the very young. The addition of this activity feature especially for toddlers will encourage them to come and bring parents, grandparents or the whole family to enjoy spending time in this magnificent woodland landscape.
