About this cause

Our organisation works with local agencies to identify and give food to vulnerable people who are experiencing a sudden crisis in their lives. Each client is able to receive 3 vouchers over a short period, to enable them to feed themselves and their families. Concurrently, they are also given help, advice and support to access other agencies which may be able to provide more practical help eg with debt, rent issues,benefits claims. We have 5 food distribution centres in Deal, Sandwich and Aylesham, and last year fed 2400 people. We are totally dependent on the generosity of local people, and have 42 collection points for food across the area. Last month 1187kg of food was donated and 1235kg distributed. Essential items are sometimes therefore in short supply, which we need to buy.
