Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
Animal Welfare
To celebrate 30 years of caring for abandoned animals in need, we want to create a visitor education centre.
About this cause
We are a local Animal Sanctuary that takes in abandoned and often mistreated animals that we then care for. We receive no Government financial support and are dependant on donations from individual supporters and caring organisations. We take Small and Large animals, including Horses; Dogs; Cats; and Rabbits. Our objective is to provide the highest standards of welfare for the animals entrusted to our care and whenever possible find a loving home for the animals we take in, but should this not be possible we are committed to never putting an animal to sleep unless there is an identifiable medical justification.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Caring for abandoned animals will always be our primary focus, but as a Charity that relies totally on donations from the general public and private organisations, we want this project to provide a place where schools, colleges, meeting groups, and organisations that share our ethos, can come to, and be stimulated to go away and work together to improve the local community.
