We want to provide a community healthy eating on a budget cooking session for disadvantaged families and individuals.
About this cause
Yiewsley Cornerstone Centre was formed to help local people of all ages by offering a range of activities and services, with the aim of making the area we live a better place. The charity provides a safe community environment for vulnerable people to make friends, undertake physical and social well-being tasks or learn new skills. For the next few years the charity is aiming to: 1. Advance the physical well-being of the community and give them the tools to live a healthier life. 2. Expand our current over 60s service delivery to meet further demand for our services. 3. Improve community access to information and enhance communication skills. 4. To champion community social impact and encourage people to take of an active role within their community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The programme will give the attendees a better understanding of cheap healthy meal options that can be achieved in their own home using basic kitchen equipment and without excessive spending on ingredients. The meal preparation is child friendly to make the experience memorable and fun which will hopefully encourage them to take more of an active role in cooking as they grow up.
