We want to provide family friendly lantern-making activities open to the whole community in the Bolsover and Chesterfield areas.
About this cause
Junction Arts is a participatory arts organisation and charity based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We have built a reputation, during the last 40 years, for delivering outstanding, transnational work in the arts through partnerships and collaborations within the rural areas of the East Midlands. We believe that the arts changes people’s lives, builds confidence and skills, increases communication and supports community and personal empowerment. Our primary aim is to increase and extend access to high quality arts through inspirational, innovative participatory arts projects and through partnership working and collaboration. We promote projects and programmes that have longer-term impact for individuals and communities.
How this cause brings people in the community together
In 2018, this event will celebrate its 25th Anniversary, and we want to make a special effort to involve as many people as possible in this community-led activity. Workshops help bring people from all walks of life together to share in fun and creative activities. The Lantern Parade brings the whole community together to celebrate in a safe and friendly atmosphere.
