About this cause

We provide people with authoritative and accessible information about human rights. We provide information resources for people to easily access this information and have produced 1,000's of booklets that are being used around the UK by people to get better care and treatment when accessing public services. We have worked with schools, the police, NHS Trusts, mental health, mental capacity, learning difficulty and autism organisations to help them embed human rights in their work so that the people who they work with get dignified and respectful treatment based on human rights principles. We have recently worked with local health and well-being advocates to empower them to use human rights as a tool to get better care for the people they work with and would like to continue this work.

How this cause brings people in the community together

1 in 4 adults experience mental health issues at some point. Mental health correlates with other issues such as inequality and poverty. Tower Hamlets has one of the highest rates of poverty in London. There are many groups working on mental health issues. Based on our evidence they would benefit from more credible information and expertise on using human rights to achieve positive change.
