About this cause

StreetLight was set up in 2014 to be a community hub, a place where young families. youth and children can hang out in a safe environment. Set up by local Christians, we created an indoor skate park and cafe with soft play, table football and large screen PS3. We provide a place that young people call home. where they can build strong friendships and support for our team. We provide free skating everyday we are open (5 days a week term time/ 7 days a week in holidays.) this allows people in our community who can't afford to ride to be able to. we also provided scooters/skateboards and helmets free of charge. This means that people who can't afford it can join there friends during the free skate. We want to keep this session free, so people can't afford it, can still ride.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Overall the project will reach the Wimborne and surrounding areas. We will see young people who can't afford to pay for skating, or buying the latest scooter being able to ride, being able to be part of what there friends are doing. We see this will create a greater community and support for more young people who have no one to talk to. Seeing a bigger support for more young people.
