About this cause

WCHP has been operating since 1992. We help people who are homeless or insecurely housed in Worthing, Littlehampton and Horsham. We provide drop in services as well as residential care, helping people rebuild their lives. We also help them maintain their independence once they have left our services. Our current objectives include our plan to reduce time taken for rough sleepers to enter accommodation through: • Maximisation of throughput of supported housing but with improved positive and sustainable move on • Reduction in ‘revolving door’ events and improved complex needs working • Increase in emergency and other suitable accommodation We offer specialist support as it is needed including mental health, substance misuse, social work support. We adapt our services as required.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Homelessness effects the whole community; rough sleepers that upset visitors to our towns and the strain on emergency services with homeless people regularly visiting A&E and being the subject of police investigations. WCHP work with over 1,000 people a year. By keeping people in their own accommodation and helping them to become more involved in their communities, we will have a positive impact.
