Regenerate UK
Young People
We want to continue running a weekly youth club and youth drop in centre for disadvantaged children on council estates in Wandsworth.
About this cause
Our vision is to see positive transformation in the lives of young people and their families in Roehampton and other estates in London. Here, 13,200 children living in poverty. Many are involved in gangs, guns, knife crime, youth offending, or anti-social behaviour and affected by inter-generational unemployment, domestic violence and poor economic wellbeing. We work to uncover and unlock the potential of young people and give them the skills and aspiration to make a better future for themselves despite living in an area where individuals expect life will never change. We operate youth centres and mentoring schemes helping young people discover their talents, express themselves, and build their self-esteem, providing a positive alternative and developing a generation of world changers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We provide safe spaces for disadvantaged young people to socialise, meet new people, and take part in positive activities learning new skills. We help young people discover their talents, express themselves, and build their self-esteem. 13,200 children from the area living in poverty and we provide an alternative to the negative behaviours of gangs, crime, and drugs that many become involved in.
