About this cause

Creating Adventures aims to enrich the lives of adults with autism and complex learning disabilities through the provision of activities with a therapeutic outcome. We aim to stimulate the adult learning disabled community through a variety of activities which will improve their physical and mental well-being and overall improve their quality of life. Our activities currently include music, art and horticulture. However we have been donated a lease on a plot of land that we wish to create a space for the adult complex learning disabled community to escape to and create their own community, a place that meets their needs both sensory and physically. A place to run activities from but also somewhere to just enjoy visiting.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Creating Adventures have joined forces with Warrington Wolves Foundation to deliver a Creating Sports for Fun Festival at Victoria Park in Warrington in May 2018 for 80 adults aged 18+ with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and challenging behaviour living in Warrington. Adults with autism and learning disabilities are often left socially isolated and lonely. Many of the hobbies and activities they enjoyed as children are taken away from them at the age of 18 because they are now an 'adult' on a piece of paper. However they are often very much children at heart and with encouragement and provision they can access, enjoy and be stimulated by new activities.
