About the Project
Our hall is in great demand and we know that if we are able to use both halls at the same time it would increase our capacity. One Hall is essentially a sports hall and you would expect a certain amount of noise generated by activities taking place in this hall. The other is often used by quieter activities such as bridge and club meetings.
About the Charity
We are a village hall based in the heart of Sturminster Marshall adjacent to playing fields used for cricket and football. The population of the village is about 2000 and most of the 700 or so people who use the hall each week either live in the village or neighbouring villages. We have two large halls, one of which is ideal for sports such as badminton, short tennis and short mat bowls. The other is used for fitness classes, toddlers playgroups, bridge, needlework, art classes and meetings. There is also a kitchen, lounge, consultation room and a set of changing rooms each with showers. The Hall is enjoyed by local residents of all ages and everyone is welcome. It is run by a group of voluntary committee members and has substantially grown in popularity over the last three years.
