We want to raise as much money to prevent cardiovascular and congenital heart disease.
About this cause
As a family from Kintore we have just set up a group for BHF with like minded people from our local areas. We are effected by heart disease as our daughter had a cardiac arrest at 15days old. We are looking to raise as much as we can and have done 3 events so far. BHF are theUK's leading funder of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) research which also includes (CHD) , 26 babies a month are born in Scotland with at least one heart defect and many owe their life to BHF research. BHF promote CV health and the ways to prevent the onset of CVD. They are fighting to improve the UK's rates of survival after a heart attack. 2100 people go to hospital a month due to a heart attack.They make sure patients and families get the best support and info. 670,000 people in Scotland are living daily with a CVD.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have at least 5 children living in Kintore alone who have Congenital heart disease as well as many adults. A lifetime of pain, open heart surgeries, medications and restrictions to life. They train people on how to do CPR and have run several courses in the village so that if any one here has a heart attack they have a better chance of survival. They fund cardiac nurses in the local community
