About this cause

STRIDE organises and coordinates events aimed at bringing together both African people and other people in the local neighbourhoods in planning on things like local community engagement activities, gardening activities, helping young people with career choices, signposting Africans to other agencies for support with problems such as abuse, gender-based violence, mental health and other social/economic problems.

How this cause brings people in the community together

This project is needed as there are incidences of many African people living in Dundee lacking a community project that can bring them together. Due to lack of social skills, many African people are at of social isolation and loneliness. By bringing together such African families living in Dundee city to engage in gardening activities will help to reduce levels of social isolation and loneliness.
