About this cause

We are a local Charity supporting young people aged between 14 & 25 by providing one-to-one support (counselling, CBT) & group work (peer-led programmes and social groups). Streetwise support over 300 Bury young people & offer over 2000 one-to-one support sessions per year & common issues we support include low mood, bereavement, anxiety, exam stress, bullying, anger issues, experiencing scary thoughts or feeling lonely. We provide young people a place to explore their difficulties safely, learn how to manage their conditions, build up confidence, develop meaningful friendships, reduce isolation, increase communication and employability skills and overall develop their skills to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Streetwise support any young person regardless of diagnosis, condition or difficulty. We work with anyone aged between 14 and 25 who need support, and we have an open door policy 5 days a week, which means young people can knock on the door any time as an alternative to visiting their GP or walk-in centre. One in five young people we work with referred themselves for support.
