We want to purchase new tents to enable more young people to experience camping.
About this cause
We support young people from 6 to 18 years. Tovil Scout Group has been an integral part of the local community for almost 100 years with the membership of boys and girls from all demographic groups in the local area. We help young people to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We meet weekly and use the 'balanced programme' approach to ensuring that young people participate in everything from craft and cooking to camping, water sports and hiking. Tovil Scout Group's camp site is hired to other Scout and Guide groups and the purchase of equipment benefits our immediate group and also young people from all over Kent. We are linked to Tovil parish and are established and important part of the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The purchase of tents will benefit all age groups and young people from all demographic groups. Young people in the group come from all communities, and those with disabilities are able to enjoy an equal playing field with other young people As Tovil Scout HQ is an very old Scout Group a lot of our equipment needs replacing. A trailer would reduce the costs of camping off site.
