We want to help people affected by MS and their families to enjoy life including paying for replacement batteries for mobility scooters.
About this cause
We are all volunteers supporting local people who have Multiple Sclerosis. Apart from the social support for people affected by MS, we also welcome other neurological groups to enjoy our specialist activities. We have a exercise class 3 times a month run by a specialist physio. We pay for special taxis so that people confined to wheel chairs can get out and about. Additionally we help fund suitable short breaks for families. We offer emergency financial help to keep mobile, usually scooter batteries £250 each. We are a new Group started this year so we start from scratch.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will help people with neurological conditions to understand, manage and deal with the limitations caused by their illness. Support their Carers and families. Develop an understanding that MS is a disease affecting young people and awareness of what this means to people affected by this devastating disease. If we have funds available we would like to contribute to research.
