About this cause

We run the Village Hall in Stamford Bridge. This is a vital facility for people to use for a wide variety of events, including Preschool provision, keep fit classes, indoor sports, weekly gatherings to combat loneliness and isolation, theatrical performances, concerts, wedding receptions, family parties, dances ( and other events. We aim to maintain and improve the building which, in its 60th year, is in need of work, especially a complete replacement of the car park's surface. The Hall derives most of its income from rental charges, so the more attractive we can make it, the better. However, the car-park is in dire need of resurfacing as it is becoming unsafe. It needs new drainage and a programme of works to remedy this.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The more attractive we can make the Village Hall, the more people we will attract to our village to use it. Having an excellent car-park will encourage visitors to the Hall and the Scouts and Guides, most of whom arrive by car or using minibuses. It is important that it is safe and fit for purpose and will be the final element of a refurbishment plan to ensure the future of both organisations.
