KAB Reflections
Social Inclusion
Funds will help us provide transport to our meetings for sight impaired adults.
About this cause
Reflections is a social & support club run by volunteers for adults with sight impairment. Ages range from 55 to 100. Members are referred to us by Kent Association for the Blind rehab staff or after seeing our posters or by recommendation. At meetings we offer refreshments, the opportunity to meet others with sight issues & to make new friends. We have speakers, quizzes & entertainers. Importantly we have fun. Members pay £5 for each meeting attended & often donate items for the raffle. Members sight impairments and/or for age related mobility issues, means transport to meetings is required & this is a major expense for us. We receive a grant from KAB but we are expected to fundraise to cover the deficit. KAB also provide training for volunteers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Will reduce the isolation for members, help them to make new friends, come to terms with their sight loss and have fun and laughter in their lives.
