We need to buy some land so we can expand our services and care for more birds of prey.
About this cause
Avon Owls is a bird of prey rescue centre. we take in birds of prey from any source, rehabilitate, and educate the public. we visit care homes, scouts, brownies and lots of other groups, we bring some of our birds with us, and educate the public all about birds of prey, especially about owls. contra to popular belief owls dont all come at night, they dont all eat mice, and only one type of owl actually goes twit twoo. we have open days at our centre where the public can visit, but our main goal is conversation of the birds of prey in our country. if we are not careful we may well loose of the different types of owls for good, we return wild birds back into the wild where they came from, but captive breed birds are given a forever home at our centre
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will be able to visit more people, and groups, we will be able to have open days, and give educational talks about the birds on our own land, we will offer work experience to the out of work, and the less fortunate, in time we will be able to employ some paid staff which will be from the local community. we already have volunteers, and will be looking at taking on more
