We want to find a cure for Vanishing White Matter Disease, and funds will buy equipment to speed up the process.
About this cause
The Rainbow Dream Charity was set up to support those suffering with the rare genetic condition of Vanishing White Matter Disease which mainly affects children including our daughter Bella age 4 who is a regular face in the Thornton Branch of the CO-OP where all the staff know her and have helped with fundraising. Vanishing white matter affects less than 200 in the world hence there is little public knowledge of the condition. Our aims are to increase public awareness and to raise money to fund Professor Orna Elroy Stein in Tel Aviv who is undertaking promising research to develop a cure. This condition destroys the white matter in the brain leading to loss of all motor skills, ultimately resulting in the individual becoming bedridden with death to follow.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will benefit the local community as your staff and local community are already aware an attached to little Bella Morris(4) who suffers with the condition hence it will allow them to increase awareness and feel more of an attachment in working towards a cure for her as well as the individuals worldwide. The project will also increase awareness of this rare and often unheard of condition
