We want to create a Santa's Grotto in Ayrshire for children, young people and their families suffering with cancer and other illnesses.
About this cause
We are building a new respite house in Ayrshire for children and young people with cancer and other life altering illnesses. As part of our fundraising we run a Santa's Grotto for children in Ayrshire and allow all disabled children to visit Santa for free. Last year we had over 8000 children come to visit Santa. We would like to offer more free places to children of all disabilities in Ayrshire and to those children and families affected by cancer. We are all volunteers so all the money will be spent on buying gifts for the children. Last year the gifts cost the charity over £4K - we would love to reach more children, run a better quality Grotto and Santa experience, and higher quality gifts suitable for disabled needs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will encourage the community to get involved with other associations within Ayrshire, for example; southcraig school in Ayr. Aspire Scotland school in Kilbirnie. Invite children from Hansel Village, Ayrshire Cancer support and so on
