We plan to update our indoor and outdoor provision to support the learning opportunities of our children.
About this cause
Harmby Under 5s is a Preschool set in North Yorkshire. We have been providing childcare & education for the local community for 40 years. We are a small, caring, friendly, Ofsted registered pre-school based within the grounds of Spennithorne CE Primary School. We have a purpose built playroom, with access to a safe outdoor environment as well as the use of a large hall in the school. We also have access to the school field & outdoor learning environment to enhance our physical provision. Our provision is planned using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, giving the children opportunities to learn in play based situations according to their interests. I am a member of the pre-school Commitee my role currently involves exploring fundraising opportunities and submitting applications.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Children come from our local community to attend the sessions provided by the preschool. Recently other local childcare settings have closed due to reduced numbers & increase in costs. In order to support and maintain high quality learning opportunities we aim to provide good quality materials & equipment. We have also consulted parents/carers about what they would like to see within the setting.
