About this cause
Baby Basics Northampton helps mum with new babies, who are in financial or vulnerable situation, provide the essentials for their new arrival. Via referral from healthcare professionals from across the county, we provide a Moses basket, bedding, toiletries and essential items for mum and her new baby. We are a charity so relie on the generosity of the general public to donate the new and second items we then, sort, clean and pack and send out to those in need. Not only do these packs provide essential items, but they also provide hope for the family, a sense that there is someone out there that cares about the situation they find themselves in, and a general public that has also supported them by generously giving. The healthcare professionals are also truly grateful for the service.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Baby Basics provides hope and support to families who are in desperate need at a time when mums can feel very vulnerable. We encourage local groups to support us, knitting groups, mums and tots group, WI, to know that everyone can make a difference to these families lives.
