We want a storage shed for our equipment, as sharing facilties with the youth club means we don't have adequate space.
About this cause
We are a relatively new group, with a Beavers and Cubs section. We've 24 Beavers (children between 5 3/4 and 8) and around 10 Cubs (Children 7 3/4 - 10), & growing. We run weekly sessions, doing all kinds of activities -next week for e.g. the Beavers are "Exploring" a local wood, & the Cubs are going to a local Climbing Wall. We try to develop independence and self reliance while creating opportunities to try all sorts of activities that they wouldn't ordinarily do. We keep it fun, & try to instill a sense of respect for self and others and community awareness. We currently share storage facilities with the youth club, but really need a Shed of our own as we and our kit grows. That would be the project we would like funding. As a new group we have a limited funds available.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will be able to expand the amount of equipment available to our group and safely store it. We will be able to expand the range of activities we are able to complete, giving the children even more varied & exciting experiences. We're a new group but here for the long term. We've a healthy waiting list, & see the group continuing to grow adding Scouts & explorers once the children are old enough.
