Our group benefits families of young children. We need constant resourcing with sensory toys, craft supplies and play equipment etc.
About this cause
We are a community centre in the heart of a large and vibrant village. We provide services to the local community with as many low or no-cost social groups as we can. We see up to 1500 members of the community a week, for our older generation we provide a chair based exercise class, a lunch club, a social/variety club, badminton, table tennis and a tea dance. For children we provide a cookery club, messy play club, a free flow play group and a New Age Kurling group. We are known for being a friendly and supportive centre and for providing excellent services within the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Young families tend to become quite isolated and can feel unsupported. Sometimes just a morning interacting with families of the same age and structure can be enough to ensure that this vulnerable time is supported and the children get the stimulation they need prior to school.
